Terrible service for the unemployed

I wish to lodge a complaint against the Department of Labour for Delayed UIF Claim submitted on the 19th of December via uFilling.

I visited the department of Labour, Orlando Office branch on the 06 of December 2019, which happened to be my birthday. When I got to the office after several hours of waiting in what seemed like an anaconda queue to our surprise we were told that the was load shedding and were sent away. How can a Government Department not have a generator knowing very well that they service the community!

I then went again on the 24th of December 2019. While standing outside in the queue, a gentleman came to address us while we were queueing that the systems are slow and the Staff were preparing to attend a Christmas party meaning that there would be no one in the offices to assist us! What happened to the Batho Pele Aoth that Government employees took when they signed their contracts of employment?

I decided to apply online as I was advised by one of the guys we were queueing with outside to submit my claim via uFilling. Which I did and then called the Contact centre to check on the status of that application where I was told to submit my UI-19 forms via e mail to *** and the Salary Schedule forms and UI-2.8 forms. Which would have a Turn Around Time of 10 - 15 Business days.

It's the 15th day and I have not received any acknowledgement, correspondence from the Department and when I called again this morning I was told to be patient with the process.

Honestly speaking I am very disappointed with the process and the way that we are treated by the Government officials especially during sensitive periods such as unemployment. Where do they except us to keep on going back and forth to their Offices because that requires money! Taxi which we do not have!

I've called the President's Hotline and the line was disconnected twice, where are we supposed to receive assistance as responsible citizens of the Rebuplic
