Still awaiting my maternity benefits

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the handling of my UIF maternity benefits claim. It has now been over four months since I submitted my application, and I have yet to receive any payment or meaningful update.

Every time I call, I’m given a different story or told to “call back after 7 to 10 working days.” I’ve done this repeatedly, and still—no progress. How many more times must I call and email before someone takes accountability?

I am financially struggling, and this delay is not just inconvenient—it’s unacceptable. These benefits are meant to support mothers during a critical time, and the lack of urgency and transparency is disheartening.

I’m asking for immediate action and a clear explanation. I’ve done my part. It’s time for the department to do theirs.
