South african UIF department using the lockdown as a reason not to pay maternity leave claims

Hi My wife is on currently on maternity leave. She had submitted all her documents for maternity leave to the UIF department , before the lockdown. Last week Sunday the 05.03.2020,my wife received a sms, stating her claim has been rejected, there were no reason attached. Thereafter my wife appealed it on the UIF website, but she still has not got any feedback. I sent an email to the UIF complaints, still no response. I also sent an email to ***, a senior in the UIF department , again there was no response. This is the second month my wife does not have any income and she needs to support her new born. The UIF department is using the lockdown as a reason not to pay people, if I get no response from the UIF department soon, I will take legal action against them, as there are laws in South africa to protect women.
