Public officer service is horrible

I app**** for my UIF claim and submitted all the required documents from my side with the first week of January 2016. To date I still have not received a single payment, sent from pillar to post and branch to branch. With Publiv officer who behave as though serving us as clients is a favor and that we are not entitled to asking any questions on our claims. I have signed the payment form more than 3 times and each week I go back to be told this form has not been scanned into the system and thus the payment can not be approved, forced to start the signing process afresh each time. Today I went to enquire on this delay yet agai. In the BraamFontein office and a gentleman known as Cossie in that office is who I enquire with, upon taking my ID he went to view the progress on the system and all he says when he gets back to me is that the form is not scanned, carrying with him a new form for completion by me. I say to him I have signed this form numerous times and each time I start a new waiting period, he tells that has nothing to do with him and that for him this is the first time he assists me and therefore he shall regard it as that. In despair I ask this gentleman whether completing this form also means I wait another 10 days to possibly have to come back again to find it not scanned, at this point he picks up the form and throws a tantrum saying he will not help anymore because I am asking him questions that are irrelevant to him. I say how is this irrelevant to you because what you are doing I have done before and my questions are from an experience I have had and wish to not keep resorting by clarifying this with you. At this point he walks away hurling for the gentleman who help me the week before, telling him this is your business I will not do anymore for this lady. I am left standing at reception, at the stare of everyone who just witnessed the humiliation, not knowing where to go now. Eventually I see the gentleman (Andrew Manzini) who helped me last time and walk towards him, he takes my ID and disappears, when he gets back all he does is hand me my ID and say here are your forms again and it appears the system is kicking them and therefore your claim payment can not be approved yet, when I ask why the system is kicking them as they are exactly the same as everyone else's, his response is I don't know.

So so here I am, almost 6 months post retrenchment, with no UiF payment and no answers. And in all this time I incur costs of making numerous trips to the labour offices to be disregarded and hurled at.

Frustrated, Thina

Case Number: ***
