Poor service and no money paid on my claim
I write this with a very sore heart.
I went on maternity leave from 15 October 2017 until 16 February 2018. My maternity leave was fully paid by my employer for 3 months and 1 month was unpaid, therefore i had to claim the 1 month from IUF.
I submitted my claim online in October and when i followed up, I was told that it would only be attended in the period of my unpaid leave which was 15 Jan 2018 to 15 Feb 2018. So i waited. I then started to follow up again because there was no movement whatsoever on this claim. When you call the call centre, you hold for approx 40 min to an hour only to be told that ' Maam, this and that document were not received and there is nothing that will be done until we received those documents'" I have heard this nonsense multiple times before i finally decide to visit the branch instead.
So I went to Dpt of Labour -Kempton park branch. I was assisted by Precious Chauke several times as she kept on requesting documents that i had already sent. What made me very angry is that she said I had to have the medical certificate form the doctor completed again the branch and onlise service do not use the same documents.
I went back to my doctor to have the medical certificate completed again and to my bank to have the bank form also completed. I submitted these to Precious and was told that all was fine.
After weeks without my money, I went back to the branch AGAIN. This time Tsietsi, another Labour consultant, said that my previous employer Quest UI19 and contribution schedule was not received. I handed the forms to him as i had all my documents in case they come up with a different story. tsietsi scanned the docs and I went my way. After no feedback I went in again. I was assisted by Simon Khoza, a rude, dark and big guy who raises his voice at every person he assists.
He said that my current employer Sanlam's UI19 was incoprrectly completed. I sat in that office confused and angry. i called my HR office to fix the dates on the UI19 and the docs were sent to Precious chaukes' email address. Precious printed the docs and handed them to Simon to scan. After all this Simon said that in 10 days i will receive an SMS and should come into the branch to sign some document and I agreed.
2 weeks was over and NOTHING, no SMS and the online claim was still stuck. I called the kempton park branch and spoke to Simon on the phone and he said that my claim had not gone to the assessor yet. I called the call centre and they told me a different strory, apparenlty my Sanlam UI19 was not received.
I sent it to Simon again and to the vosupport mail box. Until today i have not received my money. I want my money paid urgently and my baby was dignosed with epilepsy and i have medical bills to pay.
I want a seniour from the department of Labour to call me and tell me when my money will be paid. This is riodiculous. Shame on you department of labour. your staff is *********** and your systems are just the worst.
