Poor Service

On 30 September 2018 I retired from Shoprite Checkers group in Middelburg Mpumalanga, having worked there from 1998.

The company processed all the necessary or required paperwork and submitted it to the labour department and other documents I submitted them myself. But to my horror, it is the 1st of February 2019 now and I haven't received a single cent from my UIF. When I went to the labour department in Middelburg, Mpumalanga offices in November was told that the reason for the delay is that on the system my details appear with the surname of Mahlangu while my ID and working my ****en name of Ramonja appears including my banking details.

I was informed to submit my marriage certificate and change my details at the banking institution,of which I did as instructed but till today I can't get my money which I worked tirelessly for it over the years.

What's even frustrating is that over the years me UIF has been deducted using the Ramonja surname and not a single person questioned why am I using ther surname, and everywhere I go on the system though it shows Mahlangu surname but never have i had a problem when producing the Ramonja ID. So it is bullish of the labour department to deduct my and record my UIF with the Ramonja surname but when they have to pay it out then it is now that the surname becomes and issue, cause I mean if it was a problem they should have queried it before they deducted my money and not now when they have to pay it.

I am very disgusted about the treatment I am receiving from the department after working hard all these years, now it was supposed to be a time where I relax and enjoy my pension but instead I am running around like a headless chicken fighting for what's legally mine as I have worked for this money for the department to treat me this way. You cannot deduct my money and when it is time for you to pay it back, you treat me as if I am borrowing it from you whereas it is mine!!!

I have attached my ID and marriage certificate together with the documents from the labour department.

I hope this matter could be resolved as I am no longer earning an income and I need feed myself and my family. Regards Mavis Mapule Mahlangu (Ramonja) **********
