Maternity application submitted 1st week of January 2020, baby birth 16th January, certified birth certificate was taken to UIF office. Was told to come on the 1st week of February then was sent home coz they were offline every 2nd day. Stand in the que for a few hours when you reach the door they are offline. Went on the 12th of February, was sent back due to cables ****** and offline for rest of week. Went following week and signed. My 1st payment came on 4th March. Was told to come sign on 23rd but the manager advised the que due staff no having masks, sanitizers and gloves we had to email documents. On the afternoon of 23rd I emailed my documents. 10 days later I emailed again, still no response, I went to UIF stood in the que just to be told by the security that I must fill a new form and drop it in the box as due to Covid-19 Nobody is allowed inside. I tried explaining that I need to speak to someone from inside coz now I have no money for my babies essentials as well as my medical aid has been suspended due to none payment. I am putting myself in more debt borrowing money for my babies needs. This is my last month on leave and I only have been paid one month which only came in March. This is MY maternity benefit and now I must be stressed out that if either of my kids or myself get sick what do I do now that my Medical Aid has been suspended.

Absolutely frustrated, if the Phoenix Department of Labour could not manage their work load then why is the manager of that Department not requesting for more assistance from the Government. These Labour Departments was supposed to assist citizens not be the cause of their debt and stress.
