Pathetic, non existant Service from Department of Labor South Africa
Ok this is my story. November 2017 i get retrenched. I proceed to the nearest Upington branch to claim my UIF. The person advises me that only 21 days after being retrenched i am eligible to claim. his being a few days before Xmas, i decide to go back in January.
In January i do the whole waiting in a day long line, only to find out i have to have a form stamped by the bank, so off i went to the bank for this. I return the next morning to find another day long line of miserable unemployed people. Upon me being first in the line and now wasting another half day I get helped by a male person. Now I'm finally registered. I now begin the whole signing process. For 3 months I do sign every month but still no money. On month 3 I am told there was an error on my bank slip and have to re-register and provide another bank letter confirming my details of bank account. I now demand this matter be taken further... I get a contact person by the name Antoinette Keller which now escalates my query. After one month of back and forward i am still not paid out and now seem to have lost the benefit altogether. In the meantime I found employment and my current employers now register me for UIF again.
Up to this day the 14 May 2018 i have nether been compensated nor contacted by any of the people handling my so called query.
Let me just add that i have been employed for many years and never claimed once. I feel it is ************** to my face and demand answers. I have also now considered legal action against this blatant stupidity of state owned ****holes...
