Pathetic

Have contributed to UIF for the full 25 years of my career. Got retrenched at the end of May and attempted to claim for the first time - still haven't received a cent, now almost 3 months down the line. Used online process - first claim cancelled by assessor, no explanation, no contact and exactly 20 days after lodging (the "turnaround time"). Challenged this - informed docs were missing, but not given opportunity to upload during claim process. Lodged appeal - nothing. Advised by call centre to also lodge another claim - still nothing. My heart aches for those who are depending upon this pathetic service to put food on their tables during hard times. Wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that our dilligent contributions are being hoovered up and spent on luxury German sedans and Dubai villas.
