no help

I app**** for maternity uif on the 4th of May 2015. I was told to wait 5 weeks before I could receive any payment. I was told that if I didn't get any feedback I should call to ask why. I called this morning nd a rude lady answered and told me that they were still busy with April applications and basically hung up on me. I mean we almost at the end of June with no income at all. Why do I pay UIF every month if I won't benefit from it when I need it most?
