Money too tight to mention - Still waiting on payment

It has been has been six months since I have app**** for UIF. I've done so online thinking it would be easier, how wrong was I.

Mind you I've worked for the same company for eight years and thought this would be an easy process. Nope wrong again! In October 2019 I submitted my application and to my surprise I received the sms and thought ah that was quick, about two weeks later I received another sms stating that my claim was rejected. Naturally I thought how is this possible and called the number ***, after listening to Kenny G for 15 minutes someone eventually answered the phone. I explained my situation in respect of the rejected application and asked why? It was then explained to me that another company I have worked for did not complete their paperwork and therefore my application was rejected.

The weird thing is that the company that I supposedly worked for in 2010 had a change of ownership and name with this they updated their systems in respect of the Employee Declarations however they never completed the UI-19 form stating that I am no longer employed there. May I add I worked there a total of 5 days as a temp.

So I finally contact the new company and have them rectify the error and I re-apply for benefits on the 17-11-2019 (status - Still with the assessor) so I call again and hold for someone after 20 minutes. The person was unhelpful rude and really had an attitude that would set anyone's hair on fire with her better then though attitude.

I end the call and call again and finally get hold of someone a little helpful he even gives me his direct email address. All this in the month of December 2019. Still no payment received and the status is the same.

So eventually in January 2020 when everyone has resumed normal business hours I decide to go to the Dept of Labour, I was directed to sit and wait only to find out I was in the wrong queue as no-one really listens to your query instead just hear you and puts you in any random queue. Frustrated I get up from my seat and go over to the so called reception desk and made the gent shut the hell up and listen to me he then gives me a ticket and says I am actually supposed to sit in the queries section. I've already wasted 2 hours of the day, missed an opportunity that may have had me employed but I get stuck in and wait for another hour for some semblance of assistance and nothing at this point I had enough and left.

The following day I call the the 0800 number again this time I had to listen to Kenny G for 30 minutes and about to stab my eardrums when a voice finally gave answer. I explain the situation that I am in and he understands my frustration and decides to go through the entire UI-19 form with me that has been causing the grief. Turns out it was completed incorrectly and I immediately call the person that completed it and advise her what she has done. This has now been remedied and the rectified form has been sent to the individual that helped me and I cced their ***eonhole.

It is now the 28th March 2020 and I am still awaiting for payment and still seeking employment, what grinds my gears is that no-one at the department will inform you that there is a problem with your application until you call them and make them listen to what your query is.

Now with the Corona virus doing the rounds I wonder if I will ever get my Unemployment benefits or will they turn around and say the window period for it to be app**** for is closed even though I have been trying to keep abreast of the situation.
