Miserable UIF claim process

I am so irritated by the department of labour, firstly for their claim process of which is working against them. I don’t understand how can one start claiming on the day she goes Maternity, and then there is a waiting period of 8 weeks, and in that 8 weeks you UNEMPLOYED with NO SALARY hence it’s called the UNEMPLOYEMENT INSURANCE FUND!, and you have debit orders that need to go throw come that month end. You have to be at the service centre before 6am to stand those long miserable queues with your grumpy employees who do not know the meaning of customer service, who always have excuses not to provide excellent service, if it is not a break-in at the Orlando west service centre its them leaving at exactly 4pm with just 3 clients wanting to be assisted in processing a claim and then you are told to come back the following day because no one is willing to assist you, and bear in mind you are highly pregnant and need to wake up to those excuses, and then you go there the following day you are told they are offline. You are stressed, weary and heavily pregnant the last thing you need is a run around at the Department of Labour

Secondly, on their web page they have THREE contact details (switchboard, call centre and UIF call centre) of which NONE of them is ANSWERED and an online system that barely works.

Thirdly, after me trying to communicate with them timelessly via email, I get an email from Simon Maila who replies by stating that my documents were incomplete, which is a lie because I wouldn’t have been able to submit my claim at the Maponya service centre with missing docs. I then resent him the UI19 form that was supposedly missing and then NOOOO FEEDBACK whatsoever. AND NOW I am in debts and trying to recover with the little money that I get with a child to support, and then you wonder why people are in so much debts in South Africa it’s because of departments like these that do not take peoples finances seriously.

And then 6 MONTHS down the line no communication or pay out whatsoever, and your values are

We treat employees with care, dignity and respect
We respect and promote:
Client centred services
Accountability
Integrity and ethical behaviour
Learning and development
We live the Batho Pele Principles
We live the principles of the Department’s Service Charter
We inculcate these values through our performance management system.

And none of those values are lived or exercised by any of the employees of the labour department.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS MY SAVINGS MONEY, NOT SOME GRANT THAT’S GRANTED BY THE A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL AS COURTESY.

Your service is totally pathetic!!!!!

Yours truly angry client

Thembisile Promise Mathebula

********** 767
