LACK OF SERVICE AT THE UIF IN ALBERTON, JOHANNESBURG - ALL CALLS ON ALL PLATFORMS NOT CONTACTABLE
All contact numbers on their web page are not contactable. I was forced to stand in a ques for eight hours at the Alberton, Johannesburg Office, where I submitted my forms for a retrenchment/early retirement claim. Received a notification via sms confirming receipt of my application. Yesterday I received a further SMS saying that the application was rejected and I could appeal at a Labor Center with no further detail and given a reference number. No contact number, no reason. Nothing!! I am a cancer patient and going back to stand in the ques that have no social distancing. Communication is dealt with behind a gate to the offices and no entry is permitted. It is disappointing to see the lack of respect that is shown to South Africans who have lost their jobs during this pandemic and the poor service provided on all platforms as there is no way of communicating unless you visit their offices. I would be very grateful if I would receive a call from anyone at UIF who will be able to assist with my claim and the reason for it been rejected.
