Labour department withholding poor South Africans UIF finances

Employed South Africans are subjected by South African law to contribute towards "unemployment insurance fund". This insurance contribution is mandatory and not optional. It is aimed at paying out funds to the contributor (employee) in the event that they get unemployed.

You can contribute towards it for 20 years but it would only pay out a calculated percentage of the last 4 years contribution. According to the department, its turn around times for the claim is 25 working days for claim processing and 15 working days for payment processing of the claim. This is like 2 full months and in many occasions takes even way longer, more than 6 months in certain occasions.

Question is; why does it the process take this long? Could it be that the department is looking for one to be re employed so that they can dismiss the claim and not pay it out. This is insurance money, why is it withheld when there has to be a payment? When you pay insurance the last thing one need is getting the payout on what they contributed for unforseen as unemployment is an unpleasant unforseen. Without having to explain my personal story but I'm a victim of this abusive amd *****ulent behavior by the labor department. The department is not just failing us as South Africans but it's robbing us. Minister Nomakhosazana Meth needs to be engaged in this, this is unacceptable.
