Is the UIF *******?

If there had been a zero rating, I would have selected that. It is now 9 months since my retrenchment. Despite jumping through the same administrative hoops twice, constantly sending emails to the UIF Complaints mailbox, calling the call center, even copying the Minister of Labour's office, my UIF claim gets canceled by a Paymaster - no communication, no reason given. The call center agents are clueless, giving me contradictory advice or trying to placate me, promising payment even though payment has been canceled. What more must I do to get the money to which I am legally entitled? My career spans 19 years during which my employers and I have faithfully paid the UIF contributions - why am I not getting my money? Am I only one of millions of unemployed South Africans who cannot get our funds? Has our money been used by ******* officials?
