I app**** for unpaid maternity benefits in June 2015. All my documents were received in good order and I was told to expect my first payment within a period of 6-8 weeks. To date I have not received any funds nor have I found a reliable person at the Randburg branch that was able to give me accurate feedback. Firstly I was told that the 'system' rejected my claim(I did not get a call), the second reason was that my banking detail form was greater than four months(I obtained a new form & handed it to Samuel) and thirdly that the 'system' reflected that I was on maternity leave in 2013 . I since received a confirmation from my employee confirming that this is the case however I have not heard a word from them(sent to Lungile). the call centre number is never available nor is the landline number. Vincent Motuang requested for me to resubmit my documents to him as well and I have not heard from him since July/Aug 2015. I have since returned to work, however what happens to unemployed people that never get assistance and have to continuously spend money to travel to our UIF offices without getting any assistance at all. disappointing to say the least
