heartless, uncaring, cavalier people employed in SAPS and government organisation to help struggling South africans
this letter I wrote to the complaints division at uif Pretoria head office doubt they will ever reply.
To whom it may concern
I have app**** for UIF in respect of the above over 6 weeks ago going on the 7th week. I was told that it takes 6 to 8 weeks to finalise a pay out.
I have been to the department of labour four times already. Twice my documents were unacceptable to them as they did not want to accept a marriage certificate that was certified years back After much struggle I got the master of the high court to certify the marriage certificate and went back to the department after waiting for over 6 weeks. Finally on the 3rd try of taking off my day job And waiting in queues, the officials at the department advised all my documents were in order and that I should sit in the applications queue. After several hours I was assisted and an administrator Received accepted and confirmed that all documents are in order. Please take note they do not make you sit in the queue to apply for UIF if all documents are not present.
Finally I app**** and left. After four weeks an administrator calls me at work on the 21st of December and advises me that they have lost my ID and I should come to them the very same day , leave my job and come and drop off the documents as they are closing Over the Christmas period ON Monday the 7th January I went to the dept of labour as I could just not up and leave my job, once again without my companies knowledge to hand over the ID document that was certified. They told me the administrator by the name of Porsche was still on leave. I gave the said id document to a person called Lunga to personally Hand it over to Porsche. It took him 5 days to actually hand over this document to her.
I called the department several times in the day for four whole days and no one answers. When I finally get ahold of Porsche she tells me all my documents are lost. So it went from 1 document being lost to all. Kindly note that the dept requests originals of the bank forms etc so all documents were handed over to her personally and accepted and they did not give me any copies in this process or advise me that I should keep copies.
Upon calling the manager on 15th January , I had to leave a message and she did not call back.
My husband has passed away 5 months ago. I have a day job which I will lose if I come to the department one more time. It is now the 7th week, I called the call centre on 15 january and was advised that my claim is not even registered on the system as yet and not even approved.
My son and I are now left without a cent to buy groceries at this stage as we were depending on this UIF money as my husband had no life cover and we have no where else to claim from
It is pretty obvious from all government organisation in this country and the lack of care for the citizens of south Africa that are suffering that the don’t give a damn attitude is ripe with every employee working for the department.
I am now writing a letter to the media to be published on all media platforms to state how citizens are treated by the government organisations in this country. I write on behalf of all the illiterate or uneducated people and pregnant mothers and people who have lost their bread winners sitting in that queue for several hours and the service delivery that we get is pathetic.
Please respond urgently.
