Goodwood satellite branch consultant behavior
My first application was done on the 7th February 2023 at Goodwood Satellite Office. All my documents were submitted and none outstanding. I was given the form to come on 28 March. On 28 March I was assisted by a very helpful gentlemen who told me that my claim had been rejected on the 13th February due to the Assessor not closing the UIF period for 2018/2019 and that there was a discrepancy with the amounts that my employer declared and what they submitted on the forms. I was told to get payslips and letter from employer explaining the difference in amounts for the month of February and March. I returned to the office on the 30th March with the documents requestedand was assisted by the consultant who did my application. He then informed me that there was another discrepancy for January which I needed to get documentation for as well. I submitted the documents for January on the same day after 12 as there was loadshedding from 10am-12pm. He advised that no application can be processed due to financial year end but that the application will be done on the 3rd April and I was to follow up with him via email on 5th April. I sent an email to the email address he provided me with and he responded to say that application was approved. I sent an email asking whether I needed to come submit monthly documents etc but had not received any response. I called the contact centre and was advised that I need to submit a COB form which I should get at the Labour dept. I went to the Labour department today and was in the queue since 3am only for the system to be offline. I managed to speak to the consultant who sent me the email and mentioned that I had called the contact centre to find out whether I needed to submit monthly documents. He was extremely rude and said that he did me a favor by doing my application and from now on I would need to deal with the contact centre if I needed any more information and gave me the COB form and stormed off. I wasn't given the chance to ask any questions regarding the form or what I needed because this consultant wouldn't give me a chance to speak. I managed to speak to his colleague who advised which additional documents I need to bring along with the COB. I would like to know if there is any other way to submit this document because I was told that I will not be helped and will be blocked (whatever that means).
I had every right to call the contact centre to find out how far or what the status of my application is. To be treated in the manner in which I was, was very unprofessional and degrading!
I would like the matter to be addressed as I do not want to stand in a queue at 3am in the morning only to be dealt with in this manner or not helped at all because I did what I needed to do in order to get what is owed to me.
