Frustration with cumbersome UIF maternity claim benefit

I was on maternity leave last year and app**** for maternity benefits for the 2months that my employer would not be paying me. I have still not received my payout because I am sent from pillar to post every time with them making up 1 dozen requirements. Every time you submit what was requested the last time, they have a new request. Not to mention that they made me lodge a grievance against my employer for payments made in a month for which I’m not even claiming for. This is truly unfair as they deduct my uif every month without fail, but when comes time to tap into the benefit, a lot of unnecessary hurdles are created. Have been adversely impacted and am unable to get back up to date for those two months worth income loss. Had to resort to taking a loan in those two months as it became clear very early that I wouldn’t get the money anytime soon if at all. It’s really frustrating. Even tried to submit my claim online and nothing. I have called, I have gone into their offices, I have emailed,no help. It’s truly frustrating and disappointing, considering how painless my 2016 claim was.
