DISGUSTED.

My daughter was retrenched the Monday before Covid, because her ex employer knew his business won't survive this. He promised to pay their severance which he only gave in April, but she was not happy with the amount that she paid. They were told they could draw their UIF during the month of April. On going to the Goodwood Branch, she found the her Ex employer had drawn Covid to pay them. (This was not allowed) she was blocked for months thereafter, No help from that Dept, they never ever answered their phones, and if they did, they pick it up and put it down without a word. Lucky for me I work for a Comp. that have many sites and diff. Labour Depts call in on a daily basis. After much stressing,one day by the grace of God, a consultant called in and I found out he was actually an inspector and I asked his assistance, On investigation he found out that the person @ the Goodwood did not scan the documents in properly and did not bother to call my daughter just ignored it, After 6 months The Inspec. insisted me and she received a payment in Sept. She was told to go back on the 8 Oct. but when she went back, Low and behold, she had the same treatment. The system is blocked, they cant assist, she must leave. I managed to speak to another Labour Dept, I was told they were talking nonsense, the money was approved and she must go back. Going back to the Dept,, on the 12 Oct, one of the consultants came out , asked for ppl that had one payment to hand in their IDs & told to leave, no positive explanation. Many upset woman standing in the queue so distressed as they have been waiting for weeks ,some months, they do not have food. but that was treatment they received, being shoved from pillar to post. If it comes to a certain time, no one is allowed in, they forget ppl have been standing there since +- 5h00 in the am. After many phone calls I managed to find the person in charge and reported the Goodwood Branch. I reported them as I feel something has to done to help people in need, not only for us but for many families. We are all in this pandemic together, it was out of our control, why treat people that way just because they can.
