Department of Sloppiness and Rank Pulling

I submitted documents for a claim for unemployment insurance benefits, towards the end of December and beginning of the year. My documents since it was December were not actioned and I also told myself I will do the clain beginning of the year when the staff members are back from holiday. I actually did submit a claim via the labour website on ufiling.

On Wednesday the 18th January I called the laboyr department only to find out from their IVR system that their call centre line will be open from 8h30am instead if their normal 07h30am time. I then immediately called them again at 8h30am from my mobile device and had to hold on for about 25mins before someone answered on the other end. I was previously assisted by Charity Mabona and git hold of a different consultant whom I had to explain my whole plight to and there after she also was a bit confused I then asked to hold on for Charity as she has a background of what happened and what my query entailed. As I was still holding and under the impression that Charity will answer the phone a lady by the name of Julia Twala who is one of the supervisors answered and then without having an idea of ny query started going at it at me,as I wanted clarity and asked her questions about why they telling me my U.I.19 form is captured incorrectly. I then asked her why is there no standard template on how the HR staff needs to complete, she gave me no answer. After a conversation that lasted about 10mins without any joy,the lady had a nerve to threaten me and tell me she will put the phone down on me,telling me that there are people who want to be helped by her and her *********** staff from the department of labour, that is when I got annoyed as I wouldn't call on my mobile and spend 45minutes if I didn't want assistance. I even had to reprimand her and call her into order as I wouldn't let anyone pull their weight over me and also pull rank,Julia belittled me,and treated me as a child and to think of it I hold a Masters degree from one of the leading universities in South Africa and have more than 5yrs experience specialising in my chosen field of study. She kept on pulling rank and using her title to threaten me. I personally think government employees and government departments need to take their staff for customer service courses, human interaction courses,as well as basic managerial courses. For the record Julia and other public servants get their salary from our hard earner tax money. I have since contacted my employer on Thursday and sent her an updated U.I.19 form and letter of service, and also sent her an email for her to urgently delegate to her staff and ask them to updated my end date on my U.I.19 form and have also made her aware that I will be calling her daily next week to find out what the status of my application is. I am so disappointed and annoyed at their bad customer service and lack of assistance. Julia was just so happy to pull rank on me,without knowing me. I do not stay the whole day at the office and use government resources for personal gain, such as the telephone for personal usage and their internet. I do that on my own phone as well also at home during my leasure and pay the relevant service providers.
