Department of Labour - UIF Claims - NO SERVICE-NO CARE-***********
I feel that after working and contributing for +30 years to UIF contributions fund, and never having to put in a claim, that when I do find myself unemployed I should be able to claim something back .. nothing can be further from the truth with this Government department! I started last year November 2021 by submitting my request 3 times on-line ...the status always stalls at sent to assessor! I tried the call centre (lots of patience required), I'm now on my 3rd case - my last 2 cases I simply received an email notification that the case has been RESOLVED and closed!...of course no payment made. On completion of my 3rd attempt via email, I FINALLY reached a call centre agent who actually confirmed that they have ALL the correct documentation in hand, and it has been sent for data capturing, I should login to the UIF portal and see the progress within 7 days.. I spent 2 days following up via the call center after the said 7 days waiting period, today again Monday 28th February 2022 I've spoken to 5 agents, once I give my case number, I am put on hold ..5 of the 5 times the call is just disconnected, not one agent after putting me on hold returned to me with any update ,no explanation or anything, its as if they see what's in front of them and dare I say, have a narrative to disengage so not to have to make payment.
Just SHOCKING service, well NO service, no human connection, ARROGANCE, ***********, I guess the more customers they can irritate and hope they just 'go away' means they don't need to reach in and make payment ...so I'm wondering how many other South African's find themselves in this position, where did my +30 years of UIF money go to?, as its certainly not making its way back to me and the Department of Labour UIF is poorly run fully incompotent or they simply follow a narrative!
I speak to an agent, 3 out of 5 times while they state they are reviewing my case, the call drops after playing the most annoying music on hold for 40 minutes ...start again...when I do eventually get an agent that does not take 40 minutes to 'review my online case' I go through my whole case again, they assure me I have all the correct documentation , they can see my case has been escalated and I'm assured communication will be sent via a text message in the next 5 working days ...and so today alone I had to repeat the 40 minutes 'timeout' and 2 x call's, I was eventually assisted by Charity ...and this time around after 5 months and at least 12 different agents, I'm told I'm missing a document ...wow Department of Labour so quick to take my hard earned money for the past 30 years, try getting an answer never mind a payout seems virtually impossible....so here I go again, document submitted, wont be holding my breath ..
