Department of Labour or Department of Callousness?

Department of Labour: Another useless entity? How does one deal with government departments? They do not answer their phones even though the numbers are on their website. Also, you cannot get an email address for these departments as they do not seem to exist. Is this because there are SO MANY people who need help and they cannot provide the help? I recently went to the Department of Labour in Randburg. All I wanted were the forms I need to register my domestic worker for unemployment benefits. I arrive there and there are queues going down the street. Because I just need the forms, I decide to go in the door to ask for these forms. A Labour Department employee says to just wait outside and she will bring me the forms. Well, I wait outside for more than an hour with this woman going back and forth, looking extremely “busy” chatting to a lady at the table and writing in her book. Nothing happens. You cannot register on the website either as most of the time you cannot find the information you require. After about an hour and a half of sitting in the extreme heat, I ask the guard at the door for the forms. He walks about two meters into the building and gets me the forms I need. Opposite this woman who made a commitment to get me the forms in the first place! I feel so very sorry for all those unemployed people waiting out there WHO ARE KEPT WAITING FOR HOURS AND GET NO HELP. Also, the forms I need is for one domestic worker, but the information I am supposed to supply is for a company. Now what? How do I get this done for my wonderful domestic worker??? Please advise, Department of Labour. Or should you be called Department of Uselessness? PS: Maybe this is set up this way so that our government does not need to take accountability of these people who need help. Shame on you Department of Labour. Shame on you. In addition: Check out their website filled with complaints that go totally unanswered. The callousness of this “department” is unbelievable!
