cliam not being paid oput

Why do we South African pay UIF.... Understanding that its like a fund to help us that when and if we lose our work to Company Closure or retrenchment that the UIF will help us untill we find and get other work. But no you pay UIF and don't receive any funds at all you apply to claim your UIF and then you wait for months even years. I've apply in September then they said to me that the claim will take up to 6 to 8 weeks its been 13 weeks already and still no fund in my account. I did my reseach and normally a claim should take 25 days to be approved then you should get a sms saying that you should go to your nearest Labour office and go and sign and after you have signed 10 to 15 working days and the funds should be paid out to you in your active bank account. How many South Africans are homeless and on the streets because of this??? When you sit in the labour office to do a claim you sit and read all the posters and banners on there walls thats put up to tell us about ***** and *******ion! What are they saying?... I just feel that we must just not pay any UIF any more because they don't pay.....
