poor people are ignored

Last year my son took my car to a workshop to have it fixed, they re-did the engine and it only lasted +-3 weeks before the engine packed up. I had it towed back to the shop and they re-did the work. My surprise came when I was billed twice for the same work. I paid half the first account to get the car before it packed up again then my son got sued even though I told them it is wrong person. I got an attorney involved and he told me the other day that I have to pay him R3000 before the continue with the case and advised me to just cut my losses and pay. I dont have money as I am currently unemployed but I just see it as a travesty of justice that nobody wants to get involved in protecting our rights. I contacted the rights organisation and they told me they will give me reference no but now month later still nothing. The magistrate passed judgment even though the opposing attorney asked for time as the matter is being opposed. Is it because I am white and poor that I dont seem to have any rights? Please I am at my wits end and the last resort will be the media, hope you can help
