why does an unabridged birth certificate take 8 months?

<p>We app**** for an unabridged birth certificate for our daughter on 21 December 2015. I have been into the Alexandra Home Affairs where we app**** three times now to query the time it is taking - in February, April and June - and was told it still isn't ready and that I must wait for an sms. How long is this going to take? The Home Affairs website says an unabridged birth certificate takes 3 to 8 weeks !</p>
