waiting for birth certificate for a year and 6 months

<p>We app**** for a change op surname for my daughter at Stellenbosch in Jan 2016.I contacted Home affairs in Jan 2017 and was told that there is a backlog, but it should be done at any time.</p> <p> </p> <p>I contacted Home Affairs in Stellenbosch last week and was told by the person assisting I need to phone head office, because it was only suppose to take between 3 – 6months.I have been waiting a year and 6months.</p> <p> </p> <p>The lady at head office was very rude and unhelpful on the phone. She kept on saying I must go back to Stellenbosch to submit proof of payment. They made a copy of the proof of payment the day that I app****. I stay in Bellville and I have to take off every time. The proof of payment I handed in with the application.</p> <p> </p> <p>I cannot open a bank account for my daughter or even hand a copy of her birth certificate at school.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have sent two emails this past two weeks to the email hack@dha with the ref I was given for my daughters case, but I still have not received any feedback.</p> <p> </p> <p>I do not know what to do anymore and it feels like they just dont care</p> <p> </p>
