Waiting almost 10 months for my son's unabridged birth certificate

<p> I app**** for my son's unabridged birth certficate at the end of January 2016 at the Umgeni Road Durban branch, firstly for high school application and secondly so that we could travel overseas during the June/July holidays. It is now October and I have not received it!!! I have lost count of the number of times that I called ********** 190. Every time it's the same story...."Your application has been received and is still being processed, please call back in 2 weeks". WTH??? It is suppose to take 2-8 weeks!!! I even went to the Um,geni Road Home Affairs, only to be told the same thing! And additionally, that I will just have to wait. 10 Months of waiting for a simple unabridged birth certificate. For goodness sake! We received his passport within a week of applying for it. Does anyone know what they are doing when it comes to unabridged birth certificates??? We have had to postpone our overseas travel twice now because of this. I feel like I am hitting a concrete wall. Is there no one that can help or at least tell you exactly why it is taking forever????</p>
