Visa limbo

I am a Canadian citizen and app**** for a temporary residence visa through the VFS office in Johannesburg. According to their website my application was submitted to the Department of Home Affairs on 22 December 2014. As of today I am still awaiting an adjudication. In the meantime I am not allowed to leave the country or else I will be deemed an 'undesirable person'. My phone calls and emails to VFS and Home Affairs have been frustrating to say the least
