Useless Home Affairs

I app**** for a new passport and an ID card and was told I would get an sms when they ready. 6 weeks later no sms so I tried to call to get the status. Phone message says line is congested and cuts off or if you get through and follow the auto prompts you are just on hold for up to 15 minutes at which point you give up.
