Unabridged Birth Certificate

<p>I app**** for an Unabridged Birth Certificate for my son on 24 February 2016 at the Wynberg Office.</p> <p> </p> <p>It is now 20 weeks since that date and from the 11 May 2016 I have called on a weekly basis to find out the status of the application, I even sent emails .</p> <p>Every time the Home Affairs Agent would state that they have all the details and it is at the Verification Department as it needs to be verified.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have called again today, 19 July 2016, and the agent & team leader now says that they cannot locate the birth records and that I would need to go to a Home Affairs Office and complete new forms (DHA24 & DHA288) in<br />order to assist in the application being processed.</p> <p> </p> <p>I find that really unnecessary as it is not my fault that Home Affairs cannot locate the required documents. I cannot just take hours off from work to go and sit at Home Affairs to complete forms, etc. I have asked if it can be emailed to me so that I wouldn’t need to take off from work but they have said it cannot be done.</p> <p> </p> <p>My son’s school application required this document and I would be really upset if he gets denied acceptance because this document was not provided for.</p>
