unabridged birth certificate

I app**** for an unabridged birth certificate for my son in 2014 and still have not received one. I've been back 3 times to home affairs. its time consuming and I need this certificate as I need to travel. They say they have lost my sons birth registration in Pretoria. I signed an affidavit 2 times already giving all the info and saying his my son by birth. I don't know what else to do or should I go to Nelspruit branch. He app**** for his id and got it, so I don't understand how they lost his registration of birth. I NEED HELP PLEASE.
