Thank you Simon Nkosi at Springs Home Affairs

Good morning

My name is Mlungisi Sishi, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at Springs Home Affairs for their dedication at their work and being customer centric, with Simon Nkosi at the helm.

I had tried to apply for an ID card since February 2025, this was in Roodepoort Home Affairs and there was a technical issue where my online ID application was stuck or frozen I am not sure, then the Roodepoort team was not helpful at all, they just told me to go home and delete it myself.

I then went home logged into my laptop and tried deleting it, the website showed that this has been deleted so I then booked for another date, I then received a date for 1 April 2025 at Springs Home Affairs, mind you I stay in Roodepoort so this was a drive and a half for me. I then went to Springs only to be told the same thing, my online ID is stuck and it’s not allowing them to put through my ID application. However this time I saw people who were more than willing to help, they were all gathered around my laptop trying to help me delete my application which unfortunately they couldn’t do, they then shared a number I could call next day so I could get technical help and they suggested I come back once it’s fixed without having to wait months for another appointment booking.

I am at Springs as I type this and I cannot begin to explain how happy I am that my ID issue has been sorted. I wanna thank first and foremost Simon Nkosi who went an extra mile to help me, we always complain about Government Departments but I feel it’s important to give them flowers when they deserve them, I would also like to thank Jane Mashilo at smartidcard department who swiftly picked up my phone call when I called her for help.

Amazing work guys, truly appreciate it!

Regards

Mlungisi Sishi
