Terrible Service

<p>My cousin has been trying to get an ID book since 2007. The first time he went to apply he was told that he already has an ID. which was incorrect, as he tried to explain that he and my brother share the same dateof birth and have similar names they dismissed him. Every time he went back they kept telling him the same thing. i then took the liberty to go with him to the Home Affairs in Pretoria in January of this year, We managed to apply for his mothers death certificate using my ID, when we tried to apply for the ID we were sent to the 3rd floor as he still holds the old birth certificated that were written in pen. We spoke to a guy called Bra Pat, he then advised that we need to go to the Johannesburg branch as they hold the records for that birth certificate. When we got to the Home affairs on Harrison street, they didnt give us a problem when we app**** everything went smooth, and we were told that they will send an sms once the ID has arrived. i guess we celebrated too soon, as we waited and waited for that sms , two months later my cousin went back to enquire as too why he hasnt recieved the sms he was then told that he needs to wait for the sms, in April he went back again he was told to fill in a birth extract form and that they will call him once they have recieved the documents. He waited for the call but still nothing. When he went back last week he was sent to do another birth extract when he told them that he has already filled in the form in April already he was told that he has to wait for the phone call as they are still waiting for the books which are in loose pages to be sent to them and that they will call him this week. wWe have lost hope that he will get the ID as at his age he cant get a stable job as he doesnt have an ID book. As we speak am even horrified at the thought that if anything happens to him we wont be able to bury him, or worse Hom affairs will declare my brother as deceased since they said my cousin already has an ID were as they are refering to my brother.</p>
