Stupidity or spite?

My Unabridged Birth Certificate came back with my father’s birth place as Transvaal, South Africa. We have to stipulate WHY we apply for the birth certificates, and so my form states it’s because I am applying for a British passport (based on where my father was born). DHA managed to get my dad’s birthplace details correct on my Brother’s unabridged birth certificate issued in 2016. When I returned to Randburg Home Affairs, for the second time today to return my incorrect certificate…. they said they would fix it but it could take another 8-12 weeks. I had also (earlier this morning app**** for my VAULT copy) and so asked what guarantee I have that they won’t make the SAME ERROR on that too, and she laughed and said, “no guarantee”!
