still married but got divorced in 2016

i got divorced in 2016 and when i checked it in January i was assured that it will be updated. then today when i wanted to get a date to get married i was told i cant get married i have to wait another 3 months and then only i can get married again... i hate the department of home affairs why should i wait to get married when initially it is not my mistake but theirs
