****** and Poor Service Experienced

As a youth in South Africa, I am appalled at the terrible service received today (20/11/2019) at the Department of Home Affairs in Roodepoort. Inefficient systems put into place cause people to be in the vicinity for longer than necessary. Some of which are here from early in the morning and are only able to leave after 15:30. This could also be as a result of staff having a relaxed outlook, taking regular breaks and being generally uninterested, a “malfunction” occurred in which the number we had received was not being called, we were not notified until we had asked about it, almost an hour later. When asked how some people are able to get through the lines at a faster rate, people who require the services just as badly are told, “Tomorrow it could be you”, this is not an acceptable response. There was a display of blatant ****** shown in front of staff and absolutely was nothing done about it. In fact, the victim was made a mockery by the staff once he had walked out as a result of his anger. As a “Born-free”, I am completely taken aback at the lack of respect citizens have for the one another. The fact that it is being accepted as though it is an everyday occurrence. Service aside, the ****** that has been tolerated in this Government Organization is completely appalling.
