POOR SERVICE - GOVERNMENT HOME AFFAIRS

My son is working in China and gave me authority to apply for his unabridged marriage certificate in George. After going to the offices I was informed that I can not apply as there was already an application done. His mother in law did the application in Cape Town .I asked if it will be possible that I can collect the document in George and was told that they will apply for the collection in George.

After two weeks I went back and they told me that the document was not ready yet. Now the joke of the year this document was app**** for in 05/2020 and it was not ready.After several emails a Mr Yusaf Simons rep**** to a Mr Ngaka to look in to the application. After several emails again I got eventually reply from a Mrs Makhamba from the George Branch that the document is ready for collect in Cape Town which means they want me to drive to Cape Town to collect the document which is one way 450 km from George. They also just said Cape Town. Wonder if there is only one office in Cape Town this was not even specified. When I followed up in the George office the last time I spoke to the Head of their offices. While we discussed the way forward and that I told her it is very poor service se actually took out her cellphone and started to text on her phone.

This is the type of service we receive from our Government deparpments.
