PATHETIC PINETOWN DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS SERVICE

I have an 18 year old orphaned cousin Sbanisenkosi who app**** for his ID in September 2018, to date he has still not received he's ID and a clear explanation as to why this is has never been elaborated by the clerks. The ID application was made in the Pinetown branch as he was visiting an aunt at the time, however he resides in Pietermaritzburg and has therefore had to travel numerous times to Durban to check on the status of his application only to be told to come back after two weeks each time.

As we are all aware life after high school depends on an ID. you cant do jack without an ID...Sbanisenkosi is a bright young man seeking to study and fulfill his dreams, many opportunities have past him by to do so due to the lack of an ID and we see this eating away at his young spirit everyday.

A suicide attempt, a forced gap year and countless amounts of traveling fare later, I appeal and plead with your empathetic side to step in and assist with a way forward regarding this matter.

We have lost far too many young men in our society to suicide and drug abuse due to our inability to assist as a society, please help me save my cousin from being one of such a horrible statistic.

I have sent out an e-mail to the Pinetown Branch Office mananger after countless telephonic attempts asking him to avail himself just for 20minutes to hear his case...but i wont be surprised if i don't get a response... this is home affairs after all. What i'm asking is must we wait until the young man successfully commits suicide before the ID can be issued so that he may start his life after death????

Why do we punish young men that are actually trying to do good in life. It's frustrating that a basic right such as an ID is being deprived to an innocent boy by people who simply don't see the urgency to help him start in life. TO THIS DATE WE ARE ALWAYS TOLD TO COME BACK AFTER TWO WEEKS,IT'S BECOME AN ANTHEM!!!
