Passport pictures of children swopped around

Good day. In March 2026 i took my 2 children to Heidelberg Gauteng home affairs to do their passports, on 7 April my husband went to collect them just to see that the pictures were swopped. My 3 year old daughters picture was on my 5 year old sons passport with all his details and other way around.

Please assist with a way forward as home affairs kept the incorrect passports and how do i go about fixing it?

According to them it is now my mistake to repay for the correction ? I don’t understand how i was the incorrect person to be asked to pay the R1200 again to redo the passports for my children!

While the gentleman that took the picture that day was on his phone the whole time although i did ask him if its correct child before taking the picture . Yes I have no way forward unless I repay and redo it. Also requested to be refunded for the incorrect ones but home affairs manager said he doesn’t have the refund documents on the premises and will email them to me. This was 2 weeks ago and till today i haven’t heard anything or got any feedback from them.

Last week I emailed head office email that is given on the website and did a follow up this week yet no response from them.

Please i need advice on how to resolve this issue.
