Passport delay, over promising on SLA

I went to apply for my passport at the Boksburg Home Affairs on 17 Nov 2015. i asked what is the SLA/turnaround time, and the lady helping me said 14 days. mind you, she was the only one in the branch wokring with ID's and Passports, meaning we waited for hours! Nonethless, I was happy I could get it done. It is now exactly a month later and i have not received my second sms for collection. When i try to call, no-one picks up the phone, i even tried to call a different branch. <br> I then requested help from the Standard Bank Head office branch and was told my passport is delayed due to finger prints registration. He also found out that there were only two people dealing with this manual exercise and thus there was a backlog.<br> I am supposed to be travelling from the 27th of Dec and i do not have my passport. My main problem is the lack of feedback and avoiding customers.<br> Unfortunately my doubts about Home Affairs and its lack of effeciency have proven to be substantiated. I may lose out on a once in a lifetime opportunity for me due to this incompetence. <br> Something needs to be done about the state of the Home Affairs. They are dealing with people's lives, its time they realise that!
