No help! No feedback

long story short,

the service i received from the Department of Home Affairs has been nothing but shocking. My South African passport expired the 9th of January 2016, and went on the 22 of December 2015 to try and renew. I was then told that within 2 weeks i would get an sms notifying me of collection. The two weeks went by and i then re-visited the branch the 2nd week of January 2016 and was informed that they need to check the archives for my old fingerprints. The new system allows for fingerprints and the whole application to happen upon your first visit to the branch. When i got no feedback further from my second visit, i called in on the 20th of January, and was told they have to open a case. For what? Cant they locate my information?

How is it that i'm a citizen of South Africa for 64 years and have to deal with this type of service just to get a passport renewed? Meanwhile, a new applicant can apply and within 2 weeks get their passport ( proven ).

I find this really appalling as now i have to wait on baited breath for any kind of response.

Please rectify this process and my application?
