Nedbank Benefit- Home affairs
I had made use of the home affairs service as offered by Nedbank at Nedbank Arcardia. I was misinformed by the Home affairs Supervisor ( Fikiswa) on my application of my kids passports aged 16 and 17 that I do not need unabridged birth certificates as they both have ID cards. As a memeber of the public I obviously trusted this information.
I had driven all the way to the Border between Swaziland and South on the 19th of April and was treated very abruptly and was not allowed to cross the border due to me not having unabridged birth certificates fr both of my kids.
I was asked to leave the premises by the Port manager.
This had cost me alot of money for the travel and accommodation that had to be cancelled.
I had taken this up wih the home affairs at Nedbank Arcadia on the 23rd of April as this occured over the Easter weekend. Fikiswa response was that the laws change all the time and she does not know the laws of immigration- if this was the case her duty was to say to us that she does not know if we needed the unabridged certifciates. We would have then contacted immigration. Fiskiwas manager arrogantly said that it is not her responsibility to know this information and it was our responsibility.
I am annoyed that Nedbank offered this service to me as client and it failed . It cost me a fortune and was emotionally draining on my family and I
Someone needs to take responsibility for this.
