MRS HALO FROM HOME AFFAIRS MUST GO!!!!!!!!!

Utterly disgusted by my experience of Mrs Halo based at Wynberg Home Affairs. My baby was born on the 19th December on the Sunday Mrs Halo was there from 8:00 till 12:00. I asked her what was required and she then told me. I went all the way home to fetch my marriage certificate I ubered home and back to Kingsbury Hospital which I then paid R300 in total (being festive), I arrived back at the hospital at 10:50 and completed the forms which she then rejected and said I must come again. I then came back to the hospital today 29 December which she told my wife to fill in all the forms again which she then done and then told us that because we are married traditionally (Muslim) she cannot help because she is going to say that we have made the baby out of wetlock which is complete and utter nonsense and a complete lie!!!!! She then said that the laws changed which is a lie as well because even though Marriage Act of 1961 or the Civil Union Act of 2006 states that it's not recognized and a Muslim marriage certificate is not automatically recognized as a civil marriage under South African law, unless the marriage has also been registered in terms of the Marriage Act or the Civil Union Act. However, this does not necessarily mean that a Muslim marriage certificate is "null and void" when creating a birth certificate for your child.

For a child’s birth certificate: Birth Registration: *A birth certificate in South Africa is issued by the Department of Home Affairs. *The marital status of the parents may influence how the father’s name is recorded, but a Muslim marriage certificate can be presented as part of the documentation.

If the Marriage is Not Registered: * If the Muslim marriage has not been registered as a civil marriage, the Department of Home Affairs may consider the parents as unmarried for legal purposes.

* In such cases, both parents would need to be present to register the birth, and the father’s details can still be included on the certificate with proper acknowledgment of paternity. Which means that it could've been done and could've been processed as she has done previously as well alongside everyone else that has done this too including the father's information and the baby to have the father's last name. Now we have to go to home affairs to register our marriage then request a birth certificate which means this child will not have any form of identification at all, all because she did not want to work till 12:00 which she has done the previous time........
