Marriage certificate

Home affairs is the useless department. My father got divorce in 2008 but it still shows married on their system. My Father passed away and we are about to lose everything that he has worked so hard for because ex-wife uses a marriage certificate to claim everything that belong to us. We have a degree of divorce. Please help me
