Marital Status Still Not Finalised

I app**** on the 5th of June 2015 to have my marital status changed, submitted documents to Home Affairs, sent documents via email, I phone to follow up every single week but still all they can answer me is they are escalating my request but it has not yet been finalised. How long does it take to do a simple marital status change????
