<p>The below is what was noted in the emails sent to various people and no one has made contact with me. I have raised my concerns on the 20th July and again the 22nd</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>“It has really taken my last breath with regards to my son’s adoption process and now an unabridged certificate I app**** and paid for not being not even noted on the systems at Home Affairs Wynberg.</p> <p> </p> <p>Firstly it took us from Jan 2012 to 2014 to finalise the adoption. That was sorted once the file was removed from the Mitchell’s plain department as it seemed as if the social worker busy with application not knowing what to do.</p> <p> </p> <p>Once the attached letter was received, in June/July 2015 my son and I spent our time at Home affairs Wynberg to apply for the unabridged birth certificate.</p> <p>Few months later, I followed up and was advised that the application was not received from Pretoria yet and it can take up to 6 months.</p> <p>Today I called ***and a call centre consultant advised me that the surname has been changed on the system from Arendse to Williams, however there is no application for the unabridged certificate.</p> <p> </p> <p>Number 1 – why would I hand the attached adoption letter in at home affairs and not apply for the unabridged certificate.</p> <p>Number 2 – I’ve been at home affairs Wynberg after this as I app**** for my smart card id to reflect my marriage surname (Williams)</p> <p>Number 3 – I’ve been back to collect my marriage certificate and fetched my new Id card reflecting Williams</p> <p>Number 4 - I was told if I don’t have the receipt of payment, there is nothing they can do.</p> <p>Number 5– the receipt is a piece of small white paper which looks like I paid for a packet of chips at a supermarket in june/july last year. By now it’s clearly thrown away.</p> <p> </p> <p>So basically, what I paid for could of just been placed in someone else’s pocket and I need to spend a morning again at home affairs hoping this time the application will be submitted when paid for again.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is unacceptable.</p> <p> </p> <p>I refuse to just go and spend my time and money again on a system I have followed and adhered to. Even done follow up calls to check the status of the application.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am very frustrated and irritated in this regard as from the start of the adoption process to applying for the unabridged certificate has just been a major ball ache in our lives.</p> <p> </p> <p>I truly hope you can help resolve this issue to prevent me from going to higher levels.”</p> <p>Further to the above noted:</p> <p>I have to mention, that when I was at home affairs applying for the unabridged birth certificate, my husband was at work the morning, and the lady assisting me asked me to advise my husband to come through quickly to sign the papers as well. Which he did as his work is located+- 20 minutes away from the Home affairs office in Wynberg.</p> <p>Up to now, now one has responded or advised my concerns have been received, an acknowledgement email or message would be appreciated.</p> <p>this is very frustrating. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
