Home Affairs the land of extersion

On 20 March 2025 was invited to my son school that Home Affairs officials would be there to assist with Grade 11 & 12 ID application so while there we as parents asked the officials as to what they would need to the told us just a parent ID and child birth certificate which I handed in and my son took pictures and signed a form that he.d app**** for id then a week later same Thursday morning I received an SMS that I should could nearest branch then I first contacted The Home Affairs number which spent an hour waiting to be assisted then was told that documents needed to certify which I clearly explained that the first official that assisted us said there was no need mind you when Home Affairs was at Langa High that Thursday official were all over the place not even given us the proper information then after my call with home affairs next day I went to Nyanga branch where came across two different female officials who didn't seem to care in the world as I explained why I came worst is that the error was the officials that helped us in the first place I was told to go home as they had removed my son applications off the system and I should visit a bank branch reapply for the id again worst part is even the Minster of Home Affairs was at the school that day I feel like government officials are so used to being receiving quick money from people that actually want help that they lack empathy towards people that they promised to serve in the oth.... Honestly speaking ... Department of Home Affairs and government is very shady.... I'm very unhappy with service
