Good day, I am writing about my recent Home affairs interaction.

I went to apply for my ID card but when I arrived I was told that I need my ID book (nowhere on the website does it say this).

I went back a second time (this time ready with my ID book) and was told that I need to remove my facial piercings. I managed to remove 99% of them only leaving a small little nose ring that I could not remove without assistance. The consultant then told me that I cannot continue with my ID card application as this small nose ring was a “facial obstruction”.

On the size of the black and white picture the small nose ring won’t be visible.

Please can I see where it states that a nose ring is a facial obstruction?
