Home Affairs - Somerset West

I app**** for passports for myself and my 2 underage children on Friday the 4th of January 2019. As they are underage and I am divorced from their dad, I was told that he had to go into his nearest home affairs (he does not reside in Cape Town) and sign documents five days after submission of the applications for my children's two passports. His work situation does not allow for him to go to Home Affairs in this 5 day period as he lives 4 hours away from the nearest branch. I was told that if he doesn't go to sign for the passports to be processed the system would kick out the applications and I would loose the money paid for these passports and start the process from the beginning and pay again. I have been calling the Somerset Home Affairs Branch for days for anyone to please assist me as I need to ask for an extension for my ex husband to go and sign. No one answers their phones there, I tried all three numbers, a person picked up the phone once and the phone was put down. I urgently need help as I cant afford to pay for this again and also had to travel far to apply at the Somerset West Home Affairs offices. PLEASE ASSIST
